Programmes
The Gambia Civic Education programme, in accordance with the mandate for Civic Education, has a very broad scope that encompasses activities for citizens’ education, information and communication within one mould. The CE Strategic Programme is designed to weave the various components of the broad scope into a synergy such that each theme becomes holistic. The CE central sub-component Education for Democratic Citizenship is analysed with focus on 10 major themes. Under each theme the programme provides attributions for body of knowledge, skills and values that civic education should seek to develop in the citizenry. The CE Strategic Programme also analyses and provides the strategic interventions that will enable the development of civic knowledge, skills and values as contained in the 10 themes.
